L-Glutamine
(GLN)
What is
L-Glutamine?
L-Glutamine is an amino
acid. L-glutamine is the most abundant, naturally occurring,
non-essential amino acid in muscle tissue. In fact, 60
percent of free-form amino acids found in skeletal muscles
are L-glutamine. It plays a major role in protein synthesis.
In states of illness or injury, L-glutamine becomes
conditionally essential, which means the body requires
intake from food or supplements. Glutamine helps fuel two
very important brain neurotransmitters, GABA and glutamic acid, thus enhancing brain
function.
During intense
workouts, the body uses a great deal of glutamine. The
immune system also relies heavily on glutamine. Therefore,
the intake of glutamine keeps the system from taking
glutamine from the muscles for use elsewhere and so prevents
muscle breakdown (known as catabolism). Increased
glutamine consumption also provides a meaningful increase in
growth hormone levels.

Where can
I get L-Glutamine?
Dietary sources of
L-Glutamine include beans, fish, eggs, spinach,
beef, chicken, dairy products, beets, parsley, wheat,
cabbage, vegetable juices and miso soup. You can also get
L-glutamine as a
supplement:
Although you can
purchase L-Glutamine as a standalone supplement,
it makes more sense to us if you ingest it as part of a more
complete homeopathic supplement that not only includes
L-Glutamine, but a suite of other ingredients that act
together to improve performance and combat aging:

(Ingredients include: Alpha-GPC, GABA,
Glycine, L-Arginine, L-Dopa bean extract, L-Glutamine,
L-Isoleucine, L-Tyrosine, L-Valine, L-Lysine, Moomiyo
extract and Ornithine alpha ketoglutarate)
